Any cook who has tried to fry a pan full of cut potatoes can appreciate the noteworthy of feature that is found on all infrared grills. Any outdoorsman who has cooked fish over an open fire can understand the benefits of using infrared technology. The pan placed on a grill that relies on such technology demonstrates a uniform distribution of the heat from that grill. In other words, every item that is cooked in such a pan receives the same amount of heat.

Any cook who has worked with both a gas stove and an electric stove should welcome the unique features of the infrared grill. The typical grill relies on a gas flame, one that heats up a group of ceramic tiles. Yet, unlike the pan on the conventional gas burner, the pan on an infrared grill receives an evenly distributed heat.

Any chef who has been singed by a cooking fire ought to take the time to study the latest information on infrared grilling. Whenever a chef prepares a meal by utilizing the heat from an infrared power source, then that chef never has to fear the possibility of a flare up. At the same time, that freedom from flare ups does not demand the abandonment of total control over the amount of heat getting to any cook food.

Neither the flame on a gas burner nor the heated coils on an electric burner can cause the heat to rise above a certain level. That limitation disappears when one cooks on a surface that relies on infrared heat. Each of the infrared gas grills can create a level of heat that exceeds the amount of heat coming from the burner on any conventional stove.

Another characteristic associated with infrared outdoor grills should impress any homeowner who has fought the effects of the wind while cooking on an outdoor grill. When a grill has ceramic tiles heated by a traditional gas flame, then the resulting infrared heat remains at a consistent level. Over a given period of time, any food placed on the grill’s heated surface receives a steady amount its warming infrared energy.

Thanks to the wonders of infrared barbeques grills, even homeowners who live in especially windy locations can prepare delicious cooked meals in the backyard. Such a homeowner does not have to worry about the possible extinction of the fire’s flame during a sudden gust of wind. The heat producing flame remains hidden under attractive ceramic tiles.

Every homeowner who loves to host a barbeque should applaud the introduction of infrared grills. The availability of such grills has solved some of the problems that have plagued any organization that hoped to fundraise by hosting a community wide barbeque.

Moreover, now the advantages of infrared technology can be brought into the home and used in any kitchen. That good news should bring a smile to the face of any person who has wanted to prepare kebab over an open source of heat, much as they do in the markets of Tehran.

If you are considering the purchase of a new barbeque or grill for your personal use or for entertaining, consider the benefits offered by an infrared grill. Infrared grills are not a new technology, but as a result of their patents having expired in the year 2000, their prices have dropped, while their technology and efficiency have improved, making right now an ideal time to consider in this advanced and superior grilling method.

Infrared gas grills are unique and function in a manner that is distinctly different from other popular grill types, such as gas, electric, and charcoal grills. An infrared gas grill functions on the principle of infrared heat radiation. This is effectively done by the use of a solid ceramic tile at the base of the grilling apparatus. By igniting natural gas or propane underneath the ceramic tile, the fuel is converted into infrared radiation, which directly heats items placed on top of the grill surface. Whereas all other popular grill types cook items by the use of heated ambient air, as opposed to by the heat source directly, the thermal infrared radiation in infrared grilling cooks food directly. The grill comes closest to simulating this method is one that uses charcoal for fuel. Because the charcoal pieces retain the heat of the original flame, they cook with approximately twenty-five percent ambient heat, while the additional seventy-five percent is, once again, hot air.

Although this difference may not initially seem to be of great importance, infrared heat carries with it several distinct grilling advantages. For instance, the necessity of much less ambient hot air means that food items, and meats in particular, are less likely to be dried out as they cook. They are able to retain their juices and flavor much more efficiently for an end result that is infinitely more satisfying. Other advantages include the assurance of an even heat distribution on the entire grilling surface, which eliminates the need to move food items around as they cook, and often messy and inconvenient process, and the potential for much higher grilling temperatures facilitating techniques such as searing meat (meat searing is another effective method of locking in the juices and flavors of meat to ensure and end product that has flavor, without being dry.)

One disadvantage of infrared grilling is the inability to attain very low cooking temperatures for items intended to be slow cooked. If you are an expert griller that likes to have both options available, grill designs are now being offered that feature various combinations of infrared and traditional options, allowing for variety and versatility. The other variation on the traditional infrared grill is the portable infrared grill. Portable versions often have smaller grilling space to facilitate travel. They are also a slightly less expensive option for people that wish to experience infrared grilling on a budget.

With its countless advantages over traditional grill options, and now with its competitive pricing and multiple special features offered, the infrared grill is quickly becoming the preferred household grilling technique.
