With small space storage problems frequently are a problem and bathroom storage problems are a common occurrence in many homes. The bathroom is one of the most often used rooms in a typical home or apartment. Being such it has many items that need storage as they are used only in that room. Towels, bath products, shaving items, and medications are common items stored in the bathroom. Luckily there are many available solutions to keep your bathroom organized and provide ample storage space for your bathroom supplies.

Bathroom storage furniture comes in many types and materials. Metal, wood and plastic are the most common materials found at online retailers or regular brick and mortar stores. Quality levels with each material vary greatly with price, but even the least expensive storage solutions are useful so don’t over look something because of price. Metal and plastic are the most common materials used for bathroom storage shelves. Metal had the advantage of often being the more durable of the two materials but it has its drawbacks. If the metal is cheaply chromed or only painted it is prone to rust in a moisture heavy environment like a bathroom. Plastic has a couple of advantage over metal, it doesn’t rust and it is easy to clean, and it is light weight. There are some negatives to using plastic storage items. They will not be able to hold as much weight as metal, it can sometimes be bulky depending on the type of storage item it is, and plastic items often lack the same style as metal or wood.

Wooden storage options are plentiful and there is something to fit anyone’s personal style. Wood is the most common material for bathroom storage cabinets. However shelving units and other little accessories can be found as well. Wood is a great material because it is both sturdy and stylish. Wooden items also come in many painted colors and wood finishes matching almost any color scheme for a bathroom. If you have a custom bathroom you can also find unfinished or custom made items and have them painted or finished to match your needs. There are some things to keep in mind when looking at wooden items. While most will be sealed or painted to protect them from mildew and mold problems you still have to be careful with warping, usually only with the cheaper solutions that may use press board or particle board instead of solid wood. Wooden items are also a bit on the heavy side so if you’re looking for something that you can easily move around plastic may be your best option.

Here is a quick list of questions that you should have answers to before you do your shopping for bathroom storage solutions:
